A popular bakery store is now making unexpected closures of two of its locations in Tennessee by the end of the month.
Ham’N Goodys will pull the plug on its locations in Sevierville and Clinton Highway, Tennessee.
“Sadly, we are closing our Clinton Highway and Sevierville locations at the end of this month due to lack of business,” a spokesperson said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
“Thank you to our dear customers and teammates in both of those communities!”
The sweet treat chain will keep its remaining three remaining stores in Knoxville open.
However, Ham’N Goodys is not the only chain shutting its doors.
Last week, Philadelphia-based coffee chain OCF Coffee House confirmed its shutting down all locations.
The closure announcement came after the employees shared plans to unionize and join Workers United Local 80.
“We wanted better pay and stability and part-time health benefits, not only full-time,” Stephanie Slaughter, a former employee, told local ABC affiliate WPVI-TV.
“We’ve been paid really bad wages, and this was our attempt to get better wages and make the place that we love better,” Rexxi, a barista, told CBS News.
Ori Feibush, the owner of OFC Coffee House, addressed the recent closure in a letter to employees and loyal customers.
The entrepreneur said that rising costs and low sales have pushed him to close his three locations.
While he was never against the union, he claimed that the legal services he needed for it factored into the decision.
“A decision as difficult as that one is never simplistic,” he said.
“You had an organization that was already at its limit.
It was at its limit and it did not have the capacity to continue to burn an additional cost.”

“We are at the helm of a pivotal moment that will allow us to explore boundless advancement, expansion, and innovation to keep delivering ‘That Fridays Feeling’ that our fans know and love.”

Eight other locations were sold to former CEO Ray Blanchette, a longtime stakeholder who will acquire the previously corporate-owned restaurants.
The sale comes as major changes have been made to the brand’s leadership, including the news of Weldon Spangler being made CEO.
“As we continue along our path of transformation to revitalize the Fridays brand and implement a long-term growth strategy, we see a bright future for TGI Fridays,” said Spangler in a statement.
