Glassnode Co-founders now predict a massive altcoin season with a high probability of outperforming Bitcoin before one last dip.
The founders of analytics firm Glassnode, Jan Happel and Yann Allemann—known as Negentropic—suggest that altcoins might experience one final dip before beginning to outperform Bitcoin (BTC).
They shared their insights with their 63,400 followers on X, indicating that despite a potential short-term correction, many altcoins are poised for strong performance soon.
They stated, “Altcoin opportunities are on the horizon. Our Bitcoin-altcoin cycle indicator shows we’re currently in a BTC-dominant regime (below 50 on the chart).
As Bitcoin pulls back and altcoins decline sharply, this creates entry opportunities.
If BTC manages to break through resistance and the indicator rises above 50, we could see a robust altseason ahead.”
The Bitcoin-altcoin cycle indicator tracks whether traders prefer altcoins over Bitcoin.
Readings above 50 suggest that Bitcoin is lagging behind altcoins, signaling a potential shift to an altcoin season.
As of now, Bitcoin is trading at $68,708, reflecting nearly a 2% increase in the past 24 hours.
The analysts also examined the recent market performance of layer-1 projects, noting that Solana (SOL), Ethereum (ETH), and BNB, the utility token of the Binance exchange, may continue to lead the market, while Cardano (ADA) and Polkadot (DOT) could struggle.
They remarked, “In the realm of legacy layer-1s, who’s leading the charge? SOL has taken over ETH’s position in bull runs, but currently shares the spotlight with ETH and BNB.
Meanwhile, ADA and DOT are lagging, becoming a shadow of their former selves. This trend is likely to persist as stronger projects capture more market cap.”
Currently, Solana is priced at $154, up 3% over the past 24 hours.
Ethereum is trading at $2,647, showing a 1.90% increase, while BNB is at $599, also up by 1.65%.
In contrast, ADA is trading at $0.34, up slightly, and DOT is priced at $4.28, with a 2.3% increase on the day.
