Jay-Z has now been accused in a civil lawsuit of a abusing a 13-year-old with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs in 2000, the source who remained anonymous reports.
Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, has been named in a lawsuit filed on Sunday, accusing him of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000, alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The anonymous plaintiff, identified as “Jane Doe,” claims the assault took place after she was taken to an MTV Video Music Awards after-party.
Originally filed in October in the Southern District of New York, the lawsuit was amended to include Carter.
Texas attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents the accuser, has not commented on the case.
In response to the allegations, Carter released a statement calling them “idiotic” and criticized Buzbee for what he described as unprofessional conduct.
He urged for a criminal investigation rather than a civil suit, emphasizing the seriousness of the accusations and suggesting that anyone guilty of such a crime should face severe consequences.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has not commented on whether they are investigating the claims.
Buzbee has previously filed several lawsuits against Combs, all involving anonymous plaintiffs, but this is the first time he has included another high-profile figure.
Legal representatives for Combs dismissed the lawsuits as “shameless publicity stunts” aimed at extorting money from celebrities.
They expressed confidence in the judicial process, asserting that Combs has never sexually assaulted anyone.
In September, Combs faced criminal charges including racketeering and sex trafficking and is currently incarcerated at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, having been denied bail multiple times.
His trial is set for May 5, with prosecutors indicating that additional charges may be forthcoming.
Before the lawsuit was amended, Carter received a letter from Buzbee requesting mediation to resolve the matter.
In response, Carter filed his own lawsuit against the accuser’s lawyers.
Carter expressed his dismay over the allegations, highlighting his background and values, and stated that he does not engage in such behavior.
He shared his concern for how the accusations would affect his family, particularly his children, and lamented the loss of innocence caused by such claims.
The lawsuit details the alleged incident, stating that after being invited to a party by a driver claiming to work for Combs, the girl signed a document upon arrival that she believed was a nondisclosure agreement.
Inside the party, she was offered a drink that made her feel disoriented.
The suit claims that Carter and Combs later assaulted her, with Combs allegedly also participating in the attack.
The accuser is seeking unspecified damages under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act.
Carter concluded his statement by lamenting the impact of the allegations on his family and dismissing the claims as absurd.
