
LOCAL NEWS: A Menifee high school teacher has now been arrested for assault, police reported on Tuesday.
A teacher at Heritage High School in Menifee was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly assaulting a student on campus, according to police reports.
Officers from the Menifee Police Department responded to the school, part of the Perris Union High School District, around 1:45 p.m. after a School Resource Officer received information about the reported child abuse.
The police stated that 54-year-old Stacey MacPherson was taken into custody for physically assaulting a student.
The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred between the teacher and the student, per CNBC News.
Although the student did not require medical attention, they sustained injuries during the incident.
MacPherson has been charged with child abuse, and the school district has placed her on administrative leave while the matter is investigated.
