Malibu celebrity homes are now under evacuation as fire spreads due to the dry landscape conditions combined with the Santa Ana winds.
A rapidly spreading wildfire, fueled by fierce Santa Ana winds, is wreaking havoc in one of Southern California’s wealthiest enclaves.
As of Tuesday evening, the Franklin Fire has consumed a staggering 3,049 acres, prompting widespread evacuations and a frantic response from local authorities.
The blaze has resulted in the closure of all schools in Malibu, including Pepperdine University, where students were ordered to shelter in place for several tense hours.
Authorities reported that the fire has crossed the Pacific Coast Highway, with significant structures, including the iconic Malibu Pier, now impacted.
While the full extent of the damage to this historic landmark remains unclear, the situation is dire, with no containment in sight.
The mandatory evacuation zone encompasses approximately 2,000 homes along the coast west of Los Angeles, many of which are multimillion-dollar properties owned by celebrities and high-profile figures.
Among those facing evacuation is a $21 million mansion on Malibu Road, recently sold by the artist formerly known as Kanye West, and the beach house featured in Lana Del Rey’s “High by the Beach” music video, which has a storied past linked to the singer herself.
The evacuation zone includes the ultra-exclusive Carbon Beach, often referred to as “Billionaire’s Beach.”
This coveted stretch of coastline is home to numerous luxury estates, including a remarkable $48 million residence designed by renowned architect Richard Meier, owned by Oracle founder Larry Ellison.
Even the famed Nobu Malibu restaurant is at risk, alongside a neighboring mansion recently listed for nearly $20 million by co-founder Meir Teper.
Adding to the urgency, one of California’s priciest homes, purchased this year by music icons Beyoncé and Jay-Z for an astonishing $190 million, is also under an evacuation warning.
The high-end Malibu Beach Inn, located on Carbon Beach, has closed its doors to guests in light of the crisis.
The resort’s website now features a stark message: “The Franklin fire in Malibu has forced the evacuation of the city of Malibu and the surrounding areas, including Malibu Beach Inn and Spa.”
Guests and residents within the mandatory evacuation zone have been warned of an immediate threat to their lives.
Cal Fire has issued a clear directive: “This is an order by law enforcement to leave immediately.
The area is lawfully closed to public access.”
As the situation unfolds, residents are urged to stay informed through local emergency services, with evacuation information and updates available via Genasys.
The community is rallying together in this trying time, but the threat of the Franklin Fire looms large, challenging the resilience of Malibu’s elite.

As firefighters battle the flames and winds continue to howl, the stakes have never been higher.
The coming days will be critical for Malibu as residents hope for the best while preparing for the worst.
