Today, we have compiled a list of companies in Ohio that are implementing layoffs just before the holiday season, based on the latest WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) data.
It’s crucial to recognize that under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, employers with more than 100 full-time employees are required to provide a 60-day notice prior to laying off 50 or more individuals at a single location.
This notice must be submitted to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, ensuring that affected employees have some time to prepare for the transition.
As we enter November, the wave of layoffs is beginning, coinciding with the critical lead-up to Christmas.
This timing raises concerns about the impact on families during what is traditionally a festive season.
This year, Ohio has seen approximately 11,236 WARN layoffs across 86 different businesses.
Here are some of the notable companies and the number of job cuts they are planning:

- True Value. 89 job cuts by 12/14.
- DHL. 173 job cuts by 12/15.
- Nordson. 114 job cuts by 12/6.
- Libra Industries. 45 job cuts by 12/6.
- Kaleo Inc. 5 job cuts by 11/30.
- Cygnus Home Service dba Yelloh. 92 job cuts by 11/22.
Other companies laying off in Ohio also include:
- FCA US. 1,135 job cuts by 1/5/2025
- PPC Flexible Packaging LLC. 68 job cuts by 1/3/2025
- Airgas. 70 job cuts by 12/31.
- Pepsico. 136 layoffs by 12/28.
