Addie Shea, an employee at the café, recounted the harrowing experience: “I was assisting some customers at the front desk when I suddenly heard a loud noise that made me jump.
I looked up and saw the shock on everyone’s faces.”
Thankfully, despite the intensity of the situation, no patrons were struck by the truck.
However, the impact caused significant damage to the café’s outdoor furniture, umbrellas, and the surrounding fencing, leaving the patio in disarray.
“It was very chaotic; everyone was panicking,” Shea continued, reflecting on the frantic moments that followed the crash.
“I was doing my best to keep everyone calm and ensure that the situation didn’t escalate further.”
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene, attending to the driver of the car, who sustained injuries during the incident.
The driver was promptly transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
“This is definitely not something you see every day in Fallbrook,” Shea remarked, highlighting the unusual nature of the event in the typically quiet town.

The café is currently assessing the damage and working to restore its outdoor dining area, while the community reflects on the shocking event that disrupted their morning routine.
